Kalash RK01 AKS-74U Disassembly

Push Top Cover Lock, Tilt cover to open.

Take out Battery.

Now take out the Upper Handguard:

Upper Handguard Lock:

Take out the Lower Handguard by turning the lock:

Take out the Charging handle, remove first the charging handle guide rod:

Take out the front trunnion, remove large pin(1) and small pin(2), slide forward the trunnion:

Just take extra careful with this part:
1.)The Top cover Hinges(yellow arrow) and 2.)Top cover "pusher"(blue arrow).

Unscrew the Hex screw(1), then pull out the barrel(2):

Remove the "L Block"(1) and the hop up securing screw, Tilt the inner barrel(2), Slide back the Hop & Inner Barrel above the mech box.

Remove the Selector, get a cloth or tissue to cover the bolt (purpose: not to scratch), and use a pliers to remove the bolt.

Remove Bushing:

Take out the Hand grip, unscrew first(1) and remove the Hand grip(2)

Carefully you can take out now the mech box from the top of the receiver.

Mech box and the inner barrel(with hop)

First of all, thank you Comrade alakdan for this excellent tutorial.

I will be disassembling my AK74U next month, upgrading some parts and adding a Madbull tight barrel, and this is where I would like to ask a question...

Your breakdown goes as far as removing the inner barrel with the hop-up attached, but how difficult is it to detach barrel from the hop-up and then reattach a new one?

I'd appreciate any advise,

You should not have a problem removing the barrel out the Hop upunit and replacing it with a TB if you still struggel follow this below link it is the same as the RK02

here is a tip when putting the gearbox back in a kalash RK0 aeg, put the gear box back tighten the lever screw , but do not put the grip on yet , I found it very difficult to put back the spacer that keeps the hopup unit against the gearbox and seal . by doing this you are able to alin the and fit the hopup against the gearbox and then you can put the grip back. hope you understand what i am getting to
