it was a dream come true -- a guarder kit at a good price. had to subsist on skyflakes for 2 months to save for the kit, another 2 months to save for the upgraded internals, plus some sleepless nights trying to come up with workarounds. And more sleepless nights anticipating the results
Was it worth it? You tell me

hokey dokey, here we go.
here's the box the kit came in ![]() AK Mania it says right out front. arraayyyyy --- tagos and inside is a nice black foam encasing the parts ![]() the inner barrel and the hop up assembly you see in the pic is not part of the kit. i had tried installing it and it was such a tight fit i could not stand the hassle of getting it out of the outer barrel for the pic here's a better look at what's in the box ![]() as you can see you get the metal receiver, metal folding stock, metal outer barrel, metal receiver cover hinged properly hinged to the metal rear sight block, laminated plywood handguards, plum colored plastic pistol grip, metal fire selector lever, metal front sight assembly, and metal genuuwine kring muzzle device. and a bunch of assorted screws, with spares the front sight had a screw fitted instead of the adjustable front sight blade -- bummer to complete the Krinkov you will need a complete v3 gearbox with motor, a trigger guard, hop up assembly and bucking, charging handle, charging handle guide rod, and inner barrel. and an AK front sight blade it was not quite the "just drop in the motor" kit that was advertised

"not guite the kit that was advertised" may be a bit too mild. there were a few issues i had to solve to complete the beng2. part of it was my fault, of course, cos i chose to use parts from a spare 028S i had lying around. but they were not all just fitting issues.
issue 1: the hook at the rear of the CYMA mekbx that is supposed to hold the wiring from the motor in place. had to cut that off for the mekbx to fit into the metal receiver. ![]() issue 2: the center pivot slots of the CYMA mekbx selector lever did not quite fit the slots in the fire selector of the Guarder kit. ![]() had to very carefully file and sand the vertical side of the CYMA 02 mekbx selector lever and, much more cautiously, dremel the center slot in the Guarder fire selector. as you can see in the pic the zinc tab in the CYMA lever is tiny -- was afraid that removal of some metal from he tab will lead to breakage so i decided to dremel the slot instead. issue 3: the attachment screw of the Guarder fire selector had no ridges on its sides so it could only be tightened by hand. tightening it with a pliers will scratch it and the sides were too thin to allow using some soft material to cushion the teeth of the pliers. any suggestions, komrads? ![]() as expected, the screw gets looser with every fire selection. not good, not at the price of the kit issue 4: the CYMA trigger guard attachment holes did not quite line up with the Guarder screw holes so out with the dremel and some drill bits. ![]() issue 5: the CYMA charging handle guide rod was too big to fit into its hole on the Guarder receiver. filing and sanding solved that one. ![]() issue 6: a ridge on the inner surface of the CYMA charging handle aligns with the battery plate. there is no battery plate on the Guarder but the ridge of the CYMA charging handle butts against the batt and prevents proper installation of the receiver cover. the trusty dremel, some filing, and careful sanding and problem solved. ![]() issue 7: the underside of the receiver where the mag slots in is (gasp) ![]() still thinking about a solution for this. an aluminum cover? just keep a mag always in? salvage a mag upper to function as a cover for this gap? suggestions?

waw naman
glad to have you appreciate the project, komrad!!! err....uhhmmm . . . .well, at least now you know whom to contact should you decide to sell that mek back OT: after i sanded off the ridge on the inner surface of the CYMA charging handle i shortened the handle (the krink charging handle, in case you did not notice, is shorter than the standard AK charging handle) and decided to customize it a bit more. ![]() how do you komrads like the beaver tail? i broke one of the charging handle retainer tabs wile trying out the fit of the guide rod so i had to diy a substitute. from steel epoxy, of course. plus an aly bit from a soft drink pull tab and a length of paper clip wire ![]() also broke the mekbx selector lever while adjusting the wiring layout. here's how i repaired it ![]() red arrows show where the zinc casting broke off. yellow lines show the mending parts taken from a washer. after i assembled my baby i noticed gaps between the receiver and the charging handle. ![]() here is the bolt carrier after the epoxy mod, sanding, and painting: here's something i like. the stick batt inserts into the upper handguard ![]() you could fit an 10.8v stick in the space. that's a 9.6v intellect in the pic. and here's something else that i like ![]() the charging handle guide rod uses only one spring instead of the usual two in ACM AKs. Much easier to install too also had to install a TM EG100S cos the CYMA could not crank the PDI 150 even with an Element 300%. ![]() works nicely now -- good ROF

and, tadahhhh . . . . (trumpet blare)
here she is now in her present loveliness ![]() still a few kinks to work on though: misfeeds & double feeds -- also due to dirty barrel, i think. i cut off and crowned the systema TB and have not cleaned it so there's probably a few metal slivers in there. also have to adjust the positioning of the element bucking. may have to shave the outside of the hop up chamber a bit too -- almost would not fit into the outer barrel prongs and may be pressing the bucking in a bit. and a sector chip too. stock will not fold -- wiring layout, i think. always a tricky thing with AK receivers and 16AWG wire, hayyy. update: stock now folds. here's where i had to shave off parts of the metal receiver. ![]() left hand arrow shows where i shaved off metal from the rivet to make the mekbx fit better. right hand arrow shows where part of the unlock pusher was butting against the mekbx left side selector lever. not quite up to the 400 fps i expected -- could not punch through the bottom of a coke can with the end of the barrel 2" from the bottom. will have to check for leaks and, maybe, change the type 0 cylinder with a type 2/3 from the JG Tactical. am i content? obviously not !!!!! am i happy? deliriously in heaven of course!!! i have the holy grail!!!! coping with eccentricities is just part of the joy of having a gorgeous babe, it it not?
