This is another free-wheeling translation of an article at http://www.power-dy.com/ originally written by Spade-A
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Forum Staff at your service again, Komrads! Now that we've talked about the hop up and how it affects bb flight, let's discuss bb flight behavior. ![]() The drawing you see depicts the theoretical flight path of a bb shot from an airsoft weapon zeroed, as before, for 15 meters. It is not by any means exact -- there is a bit of exaggeration to make things clearer for our discussion. Zone A covers the distance from the front edge of the muzzle (or the flash hider/suppressor if you want to be very exact) to the point at which the bb starts a noticeable climb in its flight path. Since we've zeroed our example AK at 15 meters, this point is designated as such. Zone B covers the distance from the point of zero (where the bb begins to climb) to the point where the bb begins to drop. The theoretical point for our graphic is designated to be 35 meters. Zone C covers the distance from the point where the bb begins to drop to the point where it hits a target, an obstruction, or the ground. Please note that the exact points of Zone divisions in your real airsoft AK will vary depending on the power and level of tune of your airsoft AK. To make troubleshooting hop up and barrel issues a bit easier, we have come up with the following table which summarizes common signs of bb behavior and the probable causes of deviations from a normal flight path. ![]() Caveat: we have included only those issues normally encountered during airsoft play. We do not claim to have covered everything. As usual, komrads, we remain open to additional inputs, comments, and suggestions. Happy AK airsofting !!! |
