With the rescent total annahilation of the now legendary and original ACM GAMES forum at Proboards (Feb 2, 2005 - Nov. 16 2007 RIP) gone are the great threads there as well.
But not mine hehe...so here it is again exclusively re-posted in original form along my wacky english-tagalog grammar and even the last thread title of it only
here at Filakairsoft......

The A47-03.....or commonly known as the Jing Gong Dragunov

Note...
Yeah it's not a 100% SVD replica bec. it uses an akm/ak47 receiver
instead of the real deal svd longer one but in the airsoft world
this is acceptable and functional enough and wallet friendly since
those real svd replicas are too expensive for the average joe like me hehe and
besides once this baby is fully upgraded it's still way cheaper yet way way way more powerful hehe...(been there baby!)...SEMPER FI!

August 19, 2006...Saturday morning around 9am at komrad Angel's (BroJames) house along with
komrad Sagara, my online ak buddy hehe..

Wiiiiihhhh....!!!
just a few words.....it's simply here...AT ANG HABA NG DRAGUNOV NA TO hehehe.

Check out what's inside the box...

Aug 21, 2006...
here's a written review on the most obvious parts so far in stock form...

- as stock 311-313 fps chrono using .2 and slightly adjusted hop.

- bb's are hitting the muzzle every now and then seems hop-up not yet fully breaked-in yet.
a longer tight barrel might be good upgrade here to aliviate that for good.

- the fixed stock is only attached to the motor screw underneath the hand grip. it's quite stable but not very good afaic so screws on the sides are needed to make it more solid and won't put too much pressure on the hand grip since it's a little heavy upfront. placing external large batts on the stock is an invetibale option and will balance the rifle out.

- the bipod mount is kinda loose when unfolded on the mount on the barrel. when unfolding the bi-pod unclipping the holder is kinda hard to unclip unless you use a tweacher. when re-folding it's a lot easier cn be done in a matter of some few secs. i might use it once in the field just to get a good feel if i really needed it coz it does add to the weight. it feels or looks a little bit like a machine gun when it's folded LOL!

- the mag....it's metal short type hi-cap mag. using hicap long mags it misfeeds using .2 bb a sector chip is truly needed.

- front and rear sights are adjustable. rear sights needs a small allen wrench to adjust them.
front sight needs a special wrench for it as you see inside the box on the upper left corner.

- upper metal receiver cover is ribbed a little bit.

- flash hider is metal and threaded. twist it clockwise to remove it.

- slinging the gun...well you can forget about that atleast i would until i figure out where to attached it without doing harm on the barrel alignment and shoulder stock.

- overall the gun feels solid enough. performance wise, it ain't a full blown sniping rifle yet but atleast the meat of the work is done tnx to China or Jingjong!

Initial field report as of Sept 3, 2006 jungle games.

At first glance my team got crazy about the length of this gun.
Hehe sabi ko na lang... eh kasi pahabaan naman tayo ngayon, LOL!
pulido naman daw external looks nya. Parang tm ak47 na humaba lang hehe na may
bi-pod.

Playing with the Dragunak...
First thing I wanted to do is never change anything on my gaming style, naks!
I told myself na humaba lang ang ak ko and will still play assault and may be some semi sniping or like a freakin sniperatrat mode hehe. I did had to adjust obviously when it comes
to holding it and maneuvering it through the foliage. Lagi nga lang syang nasasabit LOL!
My left arm got a good work-out when drawing the gun up. So that adds up to some
early exhaustion factor. Atleast the gun is giving me a higher level of physical work-out. I can't help but act or feel a little bit of a sniper every now and then. It also adds some psychological factor as if the gun is a menace and shouting like...huy mga adiks naka ms190 nato...hehe dahil nga sa dating nya parang malakas tlga sya... kahit di pa naman ganun tlga kalakas., hehe.

Accuracy in the field...
Just the same as any ak47 length inner barrel gun. Can easily shoot tangos at around 120 feet or less. The metal hop tends to be cold (not much hop effect) at first
but after some 20-30 bb's warm-up and further adjustment it will soon fire bb's further and straigther.

The bi-pod...
Didn't had the chance to use it. Might remove it soon or until I get tired looking and carrying it.
As of now it adds up to the macho bad boy evil look hehe so it will surely stay for the meantime.

*My other ak's like m86, cyma-028-s and CA slr feels now like cqb guns LOL!

Sept 17, 2006...Field report part 2

Another Sunday afternoon with the boys but just a few of them atleast
14 of us played, tnk god hehe. Maybe some just needed more rest cause we just finished
Megablast last Sept 9. A prelude of megaball actually.

So after some few chats, geared up, test-fired Dreggz (my little romak dragunov hehe), adjusted
the hop and started playin.

Without the bi-pod...
The rifle feels much better and lighter at the front. I can draw it way faster than my
SLR. Yet it still gets cought to the bushes and stuff hehe coz it's still soo darn long.

Combat...
Like I said now it's more lighter and can easily be drawn up fast enough without too much energy and air intake resulting in a much relax combat aiming shooting aggresive posture. Since it's long and so mean looking you can't help but shoot it out at some distance on the defending tangos. The gun is truly starting to sit in properly during battle and reckon. You can never go to battle or enjoy the battle if the gun you're carrying is more of a hindrance than a weapon. Comfort is one of the key to keep
yourself motivated during some long battles imo. I for one was not totally happy during the first skirmishes I had with this romak Dragunov coz of the weight issues although I tried to soak it in and be positive about it but it does makes one get's pre-maturely exhausted.

No sling yet...
didn't bothered putting a sling for the mean time but I do have a refreshing idea on
how to sling this long rifle the untraditional way yet won't harm the barrel alignment. I saw this russian soldier hooking up his ak105 in a very unique way so I might try that. The gun is quite sturdy but it doesn't look safe enough slinging it on the default hooks.

External Batteries needed...
With a very practical yet useful DE scope mount and a dummy scope (for now) hehe the large battery do helps as cheek rest. I tried aiming without the batteries my chin is the only thing that's rested at the shoulder stock which didn't felt right.
The stock was too low when aiming at the scope. Aiming at the open iron sights, it was ok.
So I'm quite pleased no matter how much I tried to avoid external batts this is simply the way
for it from now on. Atleast they are far more safe and far more powerful.

Now with almost all essentials in place it's just a matter of spending more money on upgrade parts, accessories such as a real scope and lots of.28-.3 bb's to make it fire like a true sniper rifle should.

Current set-up
- acm m130
- metal bushing
- shimmed properly
- large GP batts 9.6 nimh 3300 mah (basically just my back up batts)
- src metal hop-up assembly
....everything else are still stock parts
last chrono average reading was...440 fps as of today...a week ago it did hit 457 average but the spring was freshly installed so I think now it's settled.

Accessories...
- BE pgb aug's dummy scope (hehe, ala sensya na po ala pa pambili totoong iskupeta eh)
- DE m86 scope mount

Oct 3, 2006
Heto current set up ko.

-metal bushings and proper shimming
-acm m130
-well piston set
-homemade sector chip
-type 0 cylinder (no hole on the side)
-9.6 volts 3300 mah large batts
-650 mm stainless steel tight barrel (6.03 ID)
-src metal hop assembly
...everything else stock.

-current fps 450+
-current rof....14 rps....( ye ye di bagay full auto pero kahit na! hehe)

This is my own personal experiment if 650 mm barrels have such
bad effect on my current set-up especially that so called vaccuum effect at full auto. I can honestly say there is no such thing kahit medyo mataas pa rof ko. Better groupings and accuracy is all what it did for me. An effective max range of atlease 120-150 feet. Kaso parang medyo bitin na ako sa fps nya so
soon I might boost it up further on a sp150 spring (550 fps) kaso ipon muna. Laspagin ko muna mga stock parts sympre para sulit.

Sp150 set-up in the coming future.............................price estimates
-sp150.......................................................................................800
-teflon coated type 0 cylinder........................................................500
-eg1000 or ics turbo 3000...........................................................2000
-hurricane spring guide with bearing and rotating plastic shaft.........1000
-piston head with bearing (systema or guarder brand).....................800
-deepfire or any aluminum half-tooth piston body...........................1500
-metal cylinder head by systema or src preferabbly the double oring one....800
-guarder infinite stu low ratio gears...................................................2500
-air sealed nozzle.............................................................................500

total estimated cost.............10400........waaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!

optional.......bore-up kit by systema.

Oct 9, 2006
Super long tight barrels are they really needed?...
Here's a little experiment concerning long barrels I just did this afternoon.
These are just based on visual observations and proximation of two land
poles in our street which I did measured by the way as guide how far the bb's travel as
well some human size targets such as sign post hehe.

Using .25 I tried some groupings and range comparison between Verds (CA slr) and Dreggz (our acm romak dragunov).

Verd's stock barrel 463mm, 6.08 id...sp140 fully settled spring...(500 fps ave)
-Max range...240 feet...hop-up adjusted accordingly to reached that distance and it's very consistant.
-Effective range using semi-auto...150-170 feet.
-Max range with the best groupings at full auto.......120-130 feet.
....masyadong nakakainis tignan yung pagkasabog or pagkalat ng bala sa pinaka dulo.

Dreggz current barrel (650 mm, 6.03 id)...(latest ave chrono last sat...438 fps, acm m130 spring)
-Max range...200 feet...sometimes it can go as far as 220-230. Seems my hop needs further tweaking and sealing up.
-Effective range at semi auto...140-160 feet
-Max range with the best groupings at full auto....150-160 feet.
......yung pagkalat ng mga bb's sa pinaka dulo di masyadong grabe kumpara sa stock barrel ng CA slr.

As you can see super long tight barrels do helps increase better groupings on a certain distance
inspite the fact my current fps ain't that high atleast on today's standard in my hometown.

So yeah the dragunov is definitely a good choice for assault/sniping/supressing mode rifle
to the not so formal conservative type who thinks it shld be only treated as just a sniping rifle, well hell not! It is meant for fun! With a bit of accuracy, but just a bit.

waaahhh!!! bakit warak na nga to?....haaaayyyy....

user posted image
stick this little rubber for the hop-up packing so it won't suddenly roll to oblivion.

user posted image
some screw here to add support to the fixed stock.

Upgrades as of Aug 21, 2006...
-shimmed it well
-installed those white plastic bushings from my m86 since they are way tighter. no money for metal bushing yet. buti di ko tinapon mga to.
-acm m130
-type 0 cylinder (no hole on the side)
-9.6 volts 3300 mah large batts
.....i estimeate after some coke can test fps is around 430-450, hopefully. will chrono it soon for better measure.

Problems so far...
bec. of my torn hop-up bb's are acting a little wierd. sometimes stable and sometimes not.
still having misfeeds. the tappet plate seems not sliding smooth enough.

The motor...
wow so far it performs quite well after some test fires. still very fast rof.

Aug 23 2006 tweaks...

Tappet plate...
If I press the nozzle back there seems to be this slight blockage before it is pully pressed back. Not a smooth press all the way just like my other aeg's. So I suspect it add to the misfeed bug.
So search really thoroughly which part was causing the slight blockage and simply trim it down
and finally tappet plate now is sliding back and forth really freely. It's stock tappet seems quite hard enough yet flexible enough unlike the softer CA tappet I had.

A bigger sector chip...
Tested the gun and yet still lots of annoying misfeeds using .2. Switch to .12 just to diagnose it and it was totally clean full auto bliss. So I presume the sector chip wasn't big enough.
Made another this time following the design of komrad scorpion a little bit. After an hour of trimming the plastic to a sector chip shape....re-assy the gun .........testfire with a little bit of hope......zzziiibratatatattatatatatatatatAT...finally
no more misfeeds!!!!!! YUHUUUU!!! hehe it's almost ready for some action.

Aug 26, 2006...finetunning...

Lemon barrel...
yay i noticed my stock barrel is freakin warped!!! yeah the bloody thing is a lillte
bit bend. No wonder i was getting frequent bb's going to the right. tnkfully my good old A47-01 stock barrel came to the rescue. Much straighter and with
the same length. and with a new hop hopefully for tomorrow morning range test fire i
do hope ALL my bb's are now flying to one single direction.

Anyway here are more hop up pics along my newly acquired rubber tnx to my tm8t we lovingly call, General Blutut hehe...

Aug 28, 2006...the merge.

SLRarunov insights

got crazy so why not merge my CA slr reciever with the front assembly of a47-03.
luckily the first 2 holes underneath the receiver where the longer screw are attached we're in
perfect sync. the 2 holes inside the mag catch where slight off back. a little trimming made
the last two screws fully screwed in.

i also interchange the hop up assy's since the dragunov's hop was slightly thicker when inserting it to the hole of the mgb where the nozzle is. so installed the SLR hop to the dragunov and boy a drop in fit.

upon testing the SLRarunov i noticed some drop in fps but bb's we're indeed breezing through straight enough. seems i shld have put some teflon or silicone oil on the hop to barrel part.

well atleast this little experiment was almost a success. atleast the merge was truely workable.

Sept 1, 2006 uprade struggle.

The SRC ak47 metal hop assembly...

user posted image

user posted image

user posted image

So what can I say...my very first time to use one. No more worries of cracking the darn thing.
Hopefully the seal is much better. Did use some teflon then inserted the hop rubber.
After some testfire seems working mighty fine. The adjustment since it's metal really is quite a blessing. much sturdier and you get a good click for each adjustment tnx to the grooves which won't budge when firing away unlike plastic hops do. Will borrow S-Tierra's chrono soon just to get better fps readings.

I got the metal hops from BroJames.
Tnx so much fafi hehehe...

Sept 14, 2006...Battery Placement

This is my way how to place the battery and routing the wires and connectors.
Very simple actually. Inspired by komrad Ikabod.

user posted image

user posted image

user posted image
highlights are plastic parts I needed to cut a little to easily navigate the wires.

user posted image
some wide rubber bonds to hold the battery in place.

user posted image
finally some camou to make it look more tactical hehe.
actually that's just a quick cover for the batts. soon i'll try develop better ideas to cover it.

user posted image
now it serves as a cheek pad as well when aiming.

user posted image
removed the heavy bi-pod just to lessen the weight dramatically. got tired of it.
atleast that bi-pod is pure metal and with an aluminum mount.

here's a closer look...

This is just the DE m86 scope mount. I just taken away the side rails and cut a little on the
front part to accomodate the rear open sight. Nice thing about this mount is you can
still peak through it and aim using the iron sights. Very clever of DE on that part.
And very practical on our part coz this thing only cost 200 or even lower at Bodega kesa namn dun sa peer bragging
authentic ak47 side mounts which cost about 3-5k....fwak it! or penge pera mama! LOL!

this will do for now habang di pa ginagawa yung pinaka-custom made kong
side mounts ahihihi...so ayan pwede na kong mag feeling sniper...bwihi!!!.....sniperatrat!

Sept 26...

A47 hi-cap shorty metal mags...
They feed well. Needed a little tweak on the winder coz it felt a little too tight.
I broke one dialer spring holder after winding it too much so better stop
winding when it feels hard already.

Hehe one childish feature is the winder on the side.
We all had this type of winding thingy on some of our childhood toys. it does helps speed up the
winding but over do it might break the winder holder as what I did so I still
prefer winding my mags the old way. Very advisable to wind the mag using this wrench
without your team looking at you or they might laugh like crazy hehe.
Or use an allen wrench much cooler and way faster to use.

user posted image

user posted image

The 650 mm stainless steel 6.03 ID tight barrel...
Awesome groupings at around 120 feet using .25 bb'.
Using .2 still very nice grouping only once the hop-up is re-adjusted.
Range wise, some very slight increase but not too much.
You can see bb's almost in a straight line.
No such vacuum effect at full auto as some people says.
My current set-up is still good for it. Hehe can't wait to install atleast an m150 set-up
and might try these so called BU kits etc etc.

Installation was really easy. Once the hop-up is engaged to the barrel just slide in the barrel
and it will just fit mighty fine. No further tweak of whatsoever on the front assembly.

Sept 27, 2006 ...Fast winding keys...
hehe kaya ayan tuloy may butas na lahat ng mga metal ak mags ko hehe.
made a macho combat ready fast winding key or that allen wrench. much cooler!
it only takes now about 2-3 secs to fully wind the mag. with this simple technique you can almost say...fwak those motorized super expensive hi-end ak drum mags! hehe.

Latest Field report.......
After about 15 months using it on and off I'm proud to say that
China aeg's are doing quite well so far and this is one those testament
that it truly shows how reliable these low price aeg's are.

Anyway just like my other field reports I'm having a lot of fun
with this rifle the more I use it. Yeah it's long but there's
one quick remedy to lessen the length a little bit. I simply
changed the flash hider to a regular ak one thus reducing
the length just a little bit and overall look of the gun.
Some funky sling hooks placement hehe which btw helps
carry the gun a whole lot easier once you need to walk a long way back
the neutral zone and vice versa. The fixed stock feels so
nice and solid to hold on to.

I can't point it out enough but the true reason why I keep
using a very long gun is bec. of the groupings. I can't stress
that out enough but if you really want heavenly groupings then this
is the best platform to install a 650 mm barrel. After that the art
of handling it is the next struggle atleast for a new user but if you
play in the jungle or field a lot then it ain't gonna be problem.

Hehe here's my good old Dreggz...

So what happened to the infamous sp170 set-up months back of this year 2007 with this aeg?

you never know, baka one of these days eh gawa tayo ng article para sa mga banyaga -- mukhang marami na sa kanila ang tumitingin sa mga flip for reliable info on ACM products. wink.gif
